Crépuscule is a traditional music band that has been around since 2001. Blending instrumental music, songs and Scottish and Irish folklore, Crépuscule can get a party going in no time.
Crépuscule plays traditional old-style Scottish dance music rather than the more recent military tradition. The band's repertoire comes from the Scottish Highlands but also from the less well-known, but equally interesting Lowlands and borders traditions. Crépuscule also play traditional Irish songs and its own original music. Aside from instrumental music - reels, jigs, hornpipes, piobroch, airs and strathspeys - Crépuscule sings in English and Scottish Gaelic. The English songs are lyrics taken from the great store of Anglo-Scottish folksongs put in music by Crépuscule. The Gaelic songs, music and lyrics, come from the Highlands repertoire. The band is made up of Christian Haerinck (border pipes, Scottish small pipes, great highland bagpipes), Dominic Haerinck (vocals, harp, cittern), Marie-Noëlle Harvey (violin) and Pierre Chartray (guitar, percussion, recorder, violin).
