The Montreal group Louarn , meaning "fox" in Breton, came together in 2000. Their style has its roots in the upper and lower regions of Brittany. Group members Pierrick Sauvage , Loïc Hamon and Patrice Declos play traditional music, singing in their native tongue (French) over rhythms of an dro , hanter dro , ridée and other Breton dances.
They have taken part in numerous festivals including Festival celtique international de Montreal , Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France and Festival Chants de Vielles , just to name a few. They have also hosted a multitude of fest-noz, dances and vocal workshops.
All three members have extensive experience on the international scene and are strongly implicated in Celtic and Quebec culture.
